SUMMARY
My first section was mostly about introducing the real life people: Elie, who wrote the book, his sisters Hilda, Bea, and Tzipora, his parents, and Moshe the Beadle. This section was all about Elie wanting to study the cabbla, the Zohar, and mysticism. Since his father won't teach him he decides to find himself one, he finds Moshe the Beadle. After much teachings Moshe is taken because he is a foriegn Jew. The people of Sighet thought they were fine and nothing happened to him and any other foriegn Jews. They were wrong. Moshe was able to escape because of a leg injury which the people who took him away ment he was dead. Since he was able to escape he told of the horrors he saw. No one in the town believed him.... So they soon found out that Budapest was being attacked by Fascists. They were attacking Jewish shops and synagogues. No one thought they would get to Sighet. Three days passed and there were German war cars in the streets!
